한-우즈벡 정상, ‘한반도와 중앙아, 나아가 유라시아의 평화 번영 협력’

President Moon Jae-in and his Uzbek counterpart agreed to work together in bringing peace to the Korean Peninsula and in Central Asia as well.
The two leaders also vowed to further cement and enhance bilateral economic cooperation.
We start things off with the Seoul-Tashkent summit.
Peace on the Korean Peninsula stretching all the way across Central Asia and to Eurasia.
That’s the deal the leaders of South Korea and Uzbekistan shook hands on during their summit in Tashkent.
President Moon Jae-in shared his goal with Uzbek parliamentarians,… the first such address by any South Korean leader.
“Lasting peace on the Korean Peninsula is connected with our co-prosperity. The precedent of Central Asia’s denuclearization is a lesson and an inspiration for our government that aims to establish complete denuclearization on the Korean Peninsula.”
And President Moon’s push for his New Northern Policy goes hand-in hand with realizing peace in the region.
He said the two sides have agreed to achieve the co-prosperity of Eurasia by harmoniously connecting Uzbekistan’s strategy for Central Asian regional cooperation and Korea’s New Northern Policy.
To further their cooperation in other areas,… the leaders have agreed to upgrade their relations to a special strategic partnership.
Reflecting on what they call a successful joint project in the energy plant sector,… the two leaders vowed to further ties to expand the level of cooperation to high-value added industries like the health and medical sector, ICT and public administration.
