WikiLeaks co-founder Julian Assange has been arrested at the Ecuadorian Embassy in London.
London's Metropolitan Police confirmed the arrest on Thursday, local time.
The arrest comes after Ecuador dropped Assange's asylum status, effectively evicting him from the embassy's property.
Assange took refuge at the embassy in 2012, fearing that he would be arrested and extradited to the U.S. for publishing thousands of classified military and diplomatic cables through WikiLeaks.
