About one thousand foreign runners participated in Pyeongyang's international marathon on Sunday - more than double the amount last year.
The North's state media said runners from China, Kenya and Ethiopia, among others, took part in this year's event.
The Mangyongdae Prize International Marathon began in 1981 to celebrate the birthday of North Korean founder Kim Il-sung.
