Gudi Padwa is the first day of Hindu Calender, and therefore celebrated as Hindu New Year in Maharashtra. It is celebrated with great enthu in Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka,Telangana and Goa also. In Karnataka it is called Ugadi or Yugadi, in AP and Telangana it is called Ugadi, in Goa it is called Samvatsaro Padvo.
