BSP supremo and previous Uttar Pradesh boss clergyman Mayawati has defended establishment of her statues crosswise over numerous urban areas in the state, saying it spoke to the "will of the general population".

Presenting her oath in the Supreme Court, Mayawati said that when she was the CM, the state governing body tried to pay tribute to her for her resolute work for the welfare of Dalits by getting her statues introduced.
