Prosecutors have dropped charges against Jussie Smollett who allegedly staged a hate crime against himself to promote his career. Smollett argued that the accusations were false. The prosecutors said they stood by the evidence that he had faked the attack, but they believed the outcome of the case was fair. The dismissal angered the Chicago police superintendent and mayor.
