The U.S. Senate will hold a hearing on aviation safety on Wednesday following two fatal airplane crashes since October that involved Boeing's 737 MAX 8 passenger jet.
The chiefs of aviation regulators including the Federal Aviation Administration, U.S. National Transportation Safety Board, and Inspector General of the U.S. Transportation Department will be grilled on their oversight approach to air safety.
The Senate panel is to focus on whether FAA was directly involved in the review of the aircraft's Maneuvering Characteristics Augmentation System,... which many point to as the cause of the fatal accidents.
Senator Ted Cruz who requested the hearing explained that a separate hearing will be held targeting officials and pilots from Boeing.
