After decades of a lull in modern artillery induction, the wheels have started rolling now with the induction of at least 4 modern systems and aircraft over the last 5 months. The army is now awaiting its first batch of Dhanush Artillery Guns which is often referred to as the Desi Bofors. On 25th March, Indian Air Force inducted 4 Chinooks. Meanwhile, in November 2018, Indian Army received the K9 Vajra and M777 howitzers. In February 2019, Tejas got final clearance for induction into the Indian army.
