Community leaders in Miri have been advised to play a role in the battle against raging wildfires in the area.

Miri Fire and Rescue Departmentire chief Supt Law Poh Kiong said they must get their voluntary firefighters to douse the wildfires before they burn out of control.

He said firefighters were working very hard to put out the fires before they cause more air pollution.
