Amid North Korea and the U.S. standing firm on their stances on denuclearization,... South Korea is seeking international cooperation in an attempt to keep the dialogue moving forward.
Lee Ji-won has more.
South Korea's nuclear envoy Lee Do-hoon will be embarking on a two-day trip to Russia on Monday afternoon to discuss the outcome of the Hanoi summit with his Russian counterpart.

Seoul's Special Representative for Korean Peninsula Peace and Security Affairs Lee is set to meet with Russia's Deputy Foreign Minister Igor Morgulov on Tuesday, where the two will exchange their takes on the summit's results and Lee will seek cooperation from the international community for these negotiations.

After his trip to Russia, the nuclear envoy will head to Brussels,... where he will attend a session of the EU's Political and Security Committee and have a sitdown with Secretary General of the European External Action Service, Helga Schmid.
Lee has already met with his U.S. and Japanese counterparts in the past weeks to discuss the next steps in North Korea-U.S. negotiations.

Now, this trip to Russia and Europe comes amid Pyeongyang and Moscow's efforts to boost economic and humanitarian cooperation.
The North's state-run Korea Central News Agency reported Sunday that the two sides will actively promote coordination on those fronts, agreed during North Korean delegation's visit to Russia last week.
The two sides also signed a deal on their plans for exchanges in 2019 and 2020.
