Ingredients:
Fafda
2cups Gram Flour
Eno
Asafoetida
Salt
Roasted Carom Seeds (Crushed)
1/4 Cup Oil
1/2 Cup Water
2-3 Drops Oil
Jalebi
1 Cup All Purpose Flour (maida)
+ 1 Cup Water
1/2 Cup Ghee
1 Cup Sugar
1 Cup Water
1 tsp Food Color (orange)
4-5 Saffron Strands
Method:
Fafda,
Mix the besan, Eno, Asafoetida, Roasted Carom Seeds (Crushed), oil and salt together with water.
Then Boil Water and Oil separately.
Add the water and Oil mixture to the besan, Add water and knead into a soft dough with 2-3 drops of Oil. Wait for 15 Minutes.
Then with a base of your palm, drag the dough in a straight line, holding the dough at the starting point with the other hand. Fry these strips over medium heat till crisp. At the end add some Asafoetida to better the taste and digestion.
Jelebi,
For making this easy dessert recipe, mix maida, corn flour and water in a bowl for 12 hours fermentation. Add Sugar and water to the Pan then add food color to the mix then heat the pan over medium flame, After sometime add saffron strands to the pan. Now fill the jalebi batter in a Ketchup bottle or you can use a muslin cloth and pierce a small opening in the cloth. Squeeze to make concentric circles. Move from inside to outside to make perfect circles. Fry till jalebis are crisp and golden.
Soak the jalebis in sugar syrup for 2-3 minutes. Ensure that the sugar syrup is warm and not very hot. Now Your Jalebi is ready to be served.
