Lok Sabha Polls 2019: India's 50% Minority, BJP Reserves 33% Lok Sabha Seats for Women Candidates

In a first, TMC Chief Mamata Banerjee and BJP Head Naveen Patnaik have reserved 41% and 33% of the Lok Sabha Seats for women candidates, respectively, bringing the women's reservation bill that has been lying untouched in the parliament since time immemorial, into limelight. Not just that, Congress President Rahul Gandhi in his poll plank has promised govt jobs for 33% women as well as passage of 33% women's reservation bill in Lok Sabha if the citizens of the country brings congress back to power. Translating the reservation in Lok Sabha Seats, BJD will field at least seven women candidates from the 21 parliamentary seats.
