Former Umno Youth chief Khairy Jamaluddin said the Umno-Pas cooperation must be based on core principles which are committed towards Malaysia as a multiracial country.

He said the two parties can't just get together and decide to play race and religion to win elections and had to come to an agreement on the core principles that they stood for.
