Huge snake eats another snake that was attacking a rat: 'Crazy turn of events'

A brawl between an eastern brown snake and a python over a juicy rat turned deadly last week — at least, for two parties involved.

Jessica Mace of Mulgowie, Australia, was inspecting a loud noise coming from her backyard shed when she stumbled upon the violent scene. As she entered, she noticed a large eastern brown snake slithering roughly 16 feet up toward a rats nest with a python in its mouth.

"The python was coiled around a rat & not letting go," according to a Facebook post by Queensland-based Andrew's Snake Removal, which explained Mace had shared the story with them.
