This just in.... an Ethiopian Airlines passenger jet has crashed on its way from Addis Ababa to Nairobi.
It was a Boeing 737, and according to the airline, 149 passengers and eight crew were on board.
It crashed at 8:44 AM local time shortly after taking off from the Ethiopian capital.
There are no details yet on the number of casualties, but the Ethiopian Prime Minister tweeted his deepest condolences to those who have lost their loved ones.
