Guwahati: CPM general secretary Sitaram Yechury on Sunday questioned Trinamool Congress's alleged 'silence' on the JNU controversy and alleged that the ruling party in West Bengal was working in tandem with the BJP government at the Centre.
"They are working in tandem because the TMC government in Bengal wants the BJP government at the Centre to go slow on the investigation into Saradha and other chit fund scams. On the other hand, the Narendra Modi government wants TMC's MP-strength in the Parliament. So, there is a tacit understanding between them," Yechury told reporters at the party's election rally here on Sunday.
