Congress leader Anand Sharma was attacked by assailants while participating at a protest meet held at JNU against the police crackdown in the campus. Congress alleges attack by ABVP students. Cong received backing from the students union which also pinned allegation on the ABVP students. Eyewitnesses said Sharma was repeatedly struck on his ear which led to profuse bleeding. BJP condemned the dastardly attack. Demanded appropriate action against the assailants.
