Retired Army personnel have begun returning their medals on Tuesday in protest against the government’s notification on the implementation of the One Rank, One Pension scheme.

“We will initiate ‘Medal wapasi’ from all across the nation today, will also hold rallies,” said an Ex-serviceman.

Union Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar acknowledged the protest, but called it “misguided”.
