A parliamentary panel has objected to a proposal that elected representatives should not be eligible for Mandal reservations.

It has also demanded that the cut -off for quota benefits should be raised from Rs 6 lakhs to Rs 20 lakhs.

This uneasiness was seen after the national commission for backward classes called for a review of quotas for the 'creamy layer'.
