U.S. President Donald Trump has reaffirmed his close ties with the North Korean leader a day after he walked away from a deal with the regime.
He took to Twitter on Friday to say he had (quote) "very substantive negotiations with Kim Jong-un," adding the two sides have well understood each other's demands.
Trump stressed that their relationship is very good and expressed hope for possible developments in the future.
During an interview with Fox News the previous day, President Trump said he wanted total denuclearization,... while Kim was willing to give up specific areas.
He also admitted that both he and Kim were not prepared enough to come up with a satisfactory deal in Hanoi.
