Several ministers and chief parliamentary secretaries in Punjab traveled a daily average of more than 300 kms for months and have sought hefty fuel reimbursement. This is the data accessed under the Right to Information Act. The logging of such long distance travel daily has been termed “unrealistic” and “highly inflated” by various opposition parties. They have dubbed it “nothing less than a scam”. A common factor among the beneficiaries was that all of them have not accepted government cars and, thus, used private vehicles.
