The research analyst who accused RK Pachauri of sexual harassment has been vindicated. An inquiry by TERI, conducted by the Internal Complaint Committee, has indicted the 74-year-old scientist saying his conduct amounted to misuse of his position and violation of the organisation's policy on sexual harassment. The report according to sources says that it recommended payment of compensation to the complainant, and to initiate disciplinary action against him. The sources say the panel felt that certain actions of Pachauri during the inquiry process were hostile and amounted to intimidation. Further, it disclosed that its members had to cope with a hostile environment due to pressure and intimidation from individuals in Teri.
