The BJP in Jammu and Kashmir today met Governor NN Vohra on government formation, a day after receiving friendly signals from Mehbooba Mufti, a leader of the largest party in the state.
Mehbooba Mufti had met the Governor yesterday and later dropped hints that her People's Democratic Party (PDP) is open to an alliance with the BJP. Speaking to reporters, she invoked former prime minister Atal Behari Vajpayee's vision and said Prime Minister Narendra Modi "has a big responsibility" towards the state.
"We have to bring back Vajpayee's policies," she said, while dodging questions on whether the PDP would join hands with the BJP.
