In the latest development regarding the Uber Cabs controversy, Transport Minister Nitin Gadkari has pressed for regulations to be improved instead of banning cab services.
"It doesn't make sense to ban services, tomorrow if something happens in a bus we can't ban that, the system needs to be changed, he said, adding that the system of giving drivers licence is faulty and a new digitalised system will be designed where everyone's track record can be viewed," Gadkari said.
Earlier in the day, following the nationwide outcry against cab provider Uber after the rape of a 27-year-old woman executive on Friday, the Mumbai Police had decided to undertake a massive census of all cabs.
