Reactions flowed on Sunday on reports of Shiv Sena's Uttar Pradesh unit to felicitate Hindu families with 10 or more children. Congress leader Rashid Alvi said that Shiv Sena always tries to divide the society on basis of religion. Congress leader JP Agarwal said that such remarks and actions are very rude to society as a whole.

SP leader Rajendra Chaudhary said that such actions are against democracy and slammed Shiv Sena for trying to promote division in societry. Meanwhile, Shahi Imam of Masjid Fatehpuri, Mufti Mukarram said that no community thinks on these lines to increase its population and condemned Shiv Sena for its remark.
