The state BJP on Tuesday protested against the ceasefire violations by Pakistan and the firing and shelling on border villages which have resulted in killing and injuries to civilians.
Led by BJP State General Secretary & Former Mayor Kavinder Gupta, 200 to 250 BJP activists held an anti-Pak protest demonstration in the city against ceasefire violations and firing and shelling on the border.
They also allegedly burnt the flag of Pakistan amid anti-Pak slogans. Eight people have been killed and 94 others injured in shelling and firing by Pakistan in civilian areas along the LoC and International Border in the Jammu region since October 1.
Gupta, while condemning Pakistan's firing and shelling on the civilian population at the border, said that despite agreements and assurances, our neighboring country indulges in such acts every now and then, which is indeed very unfortunate.
He said that during the last few days, Pakistan has targeted Arnia, RS Pura, Suchetgarh, Akhnoor, Pargwal, Hiranagar, Samba and other areas and have caused deaths and injuries to dozens of people besides damage to houses etc.
