If the world largest democracy cannot deliver justice to its citizens than many people may ask how good is democracy anyway.

And indeed as we saw last week the Indian legal system is on the brink of collapse. Such is the back clause of millions of cases that some judges estimate that even if no new cases are filed just to clear that back log will take decades and than there is question of expense the ordinary citizens simply cannot afford to keep paying lawyers year after year, hearing after hearing for appearance after appearing.
