Tension gripped Loni area of Ghaziabad in Uttar Pradesh on Monday after a nine-year-old girl was allegedly sexually assaulted by 60-year-old man. Angry residents have damaged a police vehicle and indulged in arson and damaged some property.

Section 144 of CrPC has been imposed in the area and Rapid Action Force has been deployed to prevent any flare up.

The girl's family claimed that police only filed an FIR of molestation and not of rape. The girl was sent for medical examination.
