Congress President Sonia Gandhi held a Congress Parliamentary Party (CPP) meet over the communal violence bill on Wednesday. Reportedly, the bill will be discussed in the Parliament later in the day.
As per reports, during the meeting Sonia Gandhi said, "It is a challenging time. Our numbers have reduced in Lok Sabha but not in Rajya Sabha."
Meanwhile, the party has given notice of adjournment motion in Lok Sabha to discuss the issue.
Criticizing BJP, Congress leader Mallikarjun Kharge, earlier in the day, said that his party wanted a discussion in Lok Sabha on rising communal violence in the country, but the government did not responded to it.
