Prime Minister Narendra Modi has directed the Union Home and Law Ministry to fast-track trial in criminal cases pending against parliamentarians, reports said on Thursday.

During his election campaign, Modi had promised a zero-tolerance policy on graft if he was selected by voters.

It is believed that after getting a clear instruction from the Prime Minister, the Law Ministry in coordination with the Home Ministry has started exploring ways to expedite cases that have been lodged against politicians.
