Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday started his two-day visit to Bhutan on his first foreign trip after taking over the office.
Ahead of the visit, Narendra Modi said on Saturday that Bhutan was a "natural choice" for his visit as both the countries enjoyed a "unique and special relationship", which had been forged by ties of geography, history and culture.
He also said that relations with Bhutan would be a key foreign policy priority of the BJP-led NDA government.
Meanwhile, Bhutan's PM Tshering Tobgay welcomed the visit and said that their territory will not be used against security interests of India.
