Not in its trademark shakha style but in very subtle way, the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) has prepared the ground for the BJP's spectacular performance in Lok Sabha polls in Northeast India.
The BJP clinched half of the 14 Lok Sabha seats in Assam and opened its account in Arunachal Pradesh winning one constituency. As much as 36.6% of voters chose the saffron party in Assam, transforming it from being an outfit of Hindi speaking people to a mass-based party. Assam chief minister Tarun Gogoi gave credit to the RSS for the BJP's performance.
