A Public Appeal Litigation has been filed in the Supreme Court demanding a Rs 1 crore compensation to the families of the victims of the INS Sindhuratna fire. The PIL also demands a court monitored investigation into the incident.

The Navy had said human miscalculation led to the fire that broke out on cables on INS Sindhuratna. The probe had mentioned a deviation from standard operating procedure.
