Doctors in Uttar Pradesh, who had been on strike for the past five days, finally agreed to call it off after meeting Samajwadi Party supreme Mulayam Singh Yadav
These doctors were agitating against the treatment meted out to their colleagues at GSVM Medical College, Kanpur. Faculty members of some colleges had joined the strike, too. In Kanpur alone, more than 8,000 patients were affected due to non-availability of medical services.
