The Jammu and Kashmir Assembly got off to a rough start again on Tuesday with the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) demanding reservation for Jats in the state. The Centre on Sunday had cleared reservation for Jats in government jobs, a move slammed by the
opposition as "political expediency".
Meanwhile, the PDP also took to slogan shouting in the House over the arrest of a few youths in Lalpora area last week following the Kupwara encounter. The youths had resorted to stone pelting at the police.
