Maharashtra Navnirman Sena chief Raj Thackeray has been detained by the Mumbai Police near Chembur when he along with the party workers was out on streets protesting against the collection of tax at toll plazas in the state.


Mumbai's acting Police Commissioner Hemant Nagrale confirmed Thackeray's detention. He said, "Raj Thackeray has been detained. Police stations across Mumbai were instructed to ensure no untoward incident takes place. All officers were asked to handle this case firmly."
