JNU campus celebrated Kargil Vijay Diwas for the first time where tribute was given to Indian soldiers. Gautam Gambhir and V. K Singh were also present in this celebration. A parade was also carried out. Vice Chancellor, Professor Jagdish Kumar says that he would establish a decomissioned tank in campus to establish feeling of patriotism. JNU is believed to be an academic institution and not a military university.
