Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) President Amit Shah on Monday in a press conference announced Information and Broadcasting Minister M. Venkaiah Naidu as National Democratic Alliance (NDA) candidate for Vice Presidential poll.
The decision was announced after BJP's parliamentary board meeting that was held earlier in the evening at party headquarters.
Following the announcement, Party President Amit Shah said, "Venkaiah Naidu has a lot of experience, all NDA allies have welcomed this decision."
Earlier in the day, Union Minister Venkaiah Naidu, who was also the former BJP President, had met PM Modi and spoke with BJP President Amit Shah.
