The ruling NDA coalition is likely to decide a presidential candidate before Prime Minister Narendra Modi' s visit to the US and the shortlisted candidate will file nomination on 23 June, sources said on Wednesday. According to sources, senior BJP leaders Venkaiah Naidu and Rajnath Singh met and have briefed PM Narendra Modi about the upcoming presidential elections. BJP chief Amit Shah earlier formed a three-member panel of Union Ministers Venkaiah Naidu, Rajnath Singh and Arun Jaitley to decide on the presidential candidate.
