In a major strike, terrorists on Monday attacked a police party in Budgam district of Jammu and Kashmir killing an officer and injuring three others, including two cops.
Armed with AK assault rifles, a group of unidentified militants opened indiscriminate fire on the police party led by a Station House Officer (SHO) at busy Chadoora chowk, 16 kms from here, on Monday afternoon, a police spokesman said.
Three policemen - SHO Chadoora sub-inspector Shabir Ahmad, Constable Mohammad Shafi and SPO Firdous Ahmad - were injured in the militant firing along with a shopkeeper Ghulam Mohammad.
