A day after Prime Minister Manmohan Singh slammed CBI over its unrestricted judgments all through the investigations Finance Minister has honed the defence.

The Union Minister of Finance today exaggerated on PM's line of fire against the investigation agency and questioned why it calls itself as a feeble victim. "The CBI pretends to be a helpless victim when it pleads for more autonomy," the Finance Minister said.

In his clarification, Chidambaram expressed that CBI is not really a caged parrot but it definitely needs to understand and value that there is a difference between policy and policing and it is not CBI's business to puzzle the decision making power of the government. "The CBI is neither 'a caged bird nor the Congress Bureau of Investigation'", said Finance Minister P Chidambaram today.
