The tussle over Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel's legacy raged afresh on Thursday with the BJP's prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi taking it to a whole new level at the foundation stone ceremony of the world's tallest statue at Kevadia.
Responding to Prime Minister Manmohan Singh's statement, which described Patel as secular, Modi praised him for the remark but only to berate the Congress for what he called "votebank secularism".
