"Our PM is encouraging Beti Padhao aur Beti Bachao but my father beats me up daily after he returns home inebriated." These are the words of a 14-year-old girl who gets thrashed by her father everyday for being a 'girl'.

In a shameful incident being reported from the Vasant Kunj area of New Delhi, a lawyer of High Court has been beating up his wife for giving birth to a girl child for the past 15 years.

Speaking on the matter, the wife of accused said, “I'm being cursed by my mother-in-law for giving birth to a girl child. My 14-year-old daughter gets thrashed by my husband and mother-in-law every night just because she is a girl and my husband and his family wanted a boy.”
