Convicted legislators, MPs and ministers Wednesday noon after ending the core-committee meet.
Prime Minister Manmohan Singh in this regard met to President Pranab mukherjee before his leaving to country for his official European tour, and briefed him about the cabinet's decision to withdraw the ordinance that has defied the Supreme Court's order regarding convicted ministers, MPs and MLAs.
However, the final announcement is yet to come and there is a chance that it will come after ending the union cabinet meet, set to be held at 6:00 p.m. today.
Since the making of this ordinance, it attracted severe criticism from the opposition especially Bhartiya Janta Party, whose delegates met to President and asked him to not to sign on that ordinance.
After passing the bill, Congress Vice president Rahul gandhi criticised the bill publicly and it was a 'complete nonsense', and said it should be torn up and thrown away. This became major embarrassment to congress party and Prime Minister who was then in United States
