In what comes as a setback for Narendra Modi and his development claims, the Raghuram Rajan Committee report which was released on Thursday claims that Gujarat is a less developed state. It features behind 6 congress ruled states in the country.

RBI's new governor Raghuram Rajan was heading the panel to evaluate the overall performance of all 28 states has been facing the wrath of BJP prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi's supporters after he declared Gujarat a less developed state.

In his earlier avatar as the chief economic adviser to the Prime minister Rajan headed a panel to evaluate the overall performance of the 28 states of India.
