NewsX: A simmering tension continues to grip Darjeeling hills on the fourth day of the indefinite bandh by Gorkha Janmukti Morcha.

Normal life has been paralyzed as an indefinite bandh began on Saturday in Darjeeling to demand a Gorkhaland state, with a panchayat office being burnt down and protest intensifying.

On the third day of the indefinite bandh a silent procession with the body of a GJM supporter Mangal Singh Rajput, who died after immolating himself over Gorkhaland demand, began its last journey in Kalimpong.

Rajput's body was taken to his home in Kalimpong Sunday night in a procession. He had tried to immolate himself at Dumbar chowk in the heart of the hill town and suffered 90 per cent burns.
