With the Supreme Court refusing to detain the youngest rapist in Delhi's infamous December 16 gang-rape case in the absence of a law, a demand for quick passage of the amendments to the Juvenile Justice Act was made in the Rajya Sabha today. The Bill aims to allow youth between 16-18 years to be tried as adults in heinous crime cases was made in the Rajya Sabha.
