NewsX: In an embarassing case of cyber crime, of the 37 hacked bank accounts, 15 of them are of Mumbai police officers. These were salary accounts in the Axis Bank.
The money was withdrawn in Euros from ATM machines in Greece, possibly through cloned debit cards. The total amount debited was Rs 15.47 lakhs, of which 2.50 lakhs is from the salary accounts of policemen.
Not surprisingly, the police have swiftly swung into action. A team headed by the DCP has been formed to investigate the matter. An FIR has been lodged with Colaba Police Station.
