Within a month of a police officer daring to arrest the son of the Chief Minister of Karnataka, the state's Congress government attempts to get over powering control over the police department.
In a move to have a say in police officers' transfers and the department's administration, the government tabled the Karnataka Police Amendment Bill-2013 in the Legislative Assembly, despite opposition from BJP members.
