NewsX: Big twist to the Gujarat Government giving go-ahead for seeking death penalty to former BJP minister Maya Kodnani and 9 other convicts for their role in the Naroda Patiya massacre.

Indications are rife that Gujarat Government is watering down its clearance to the Special Investigation Team to appeal against the trial order, which sentenced them to life.

The Modi Government under pressure from Sangh, has now found a legal way to detach itself from the case by referring the clearance to the Advocate General.

Experts feel that the move is a well crafted one as the Modi Government could detach itself from the case and put the onus on the Advocate General to withdraw the plea.
